I was born and raised on a small horse farm outside Savannah, Georgia, where I learned the value of hard work and doing things the right way. My passion for sports began early, and I competed throughout high school and college. My coaching journey began my senior year of high school, through Upward Sports at my church. While attending Georgia Southern University, I earned a minor in Coaching and worked as a tennis pro, high school tennis coach, and middle school football coach. My coaching experience grew alongside my daughters, and for the past eight years, I’ve coached soccer, tennis, and softball—most recently with the Shooting Stars Organization. My approach to coaching is shaped by over 15 years of lessons learned and experience leading Soldiers as an Officer in the US Army with an emphasis on building cohesive teams, discipline, accountability, and excellence. My mission as a coach is to create a dynamic and supportive environment where girls are empowered to cultivate unwavering confidence, develop resilience in the face of challenges, and consistently demonstrate their best effort and a positive attitude, both within the sport and in all aspects of their lives.

Andy grew up playing little league all-stars in Texas and high school baseball down in Richmond. He and his wife Mary have 2 daughters, Alex and Sydney, who both play travel softball. Through them he's has numerous seasons of coaching AGSL and Shooting Stars teams, including the 8U and 10U Academy teams. He also coached Alex's volleyball team over winter break to a championship win. Andy just finished up assisting the Shooting Stars 10U Academy team and is now extremely exited to join the the 10U Hodges coaching staff. He's coaching philosophy is drilling the mechanics into the younger girls through unlimited reps and positive reinforcement to develop good habits before middle school. And have fun while doing it!
